Fullstack Leisure App (2026) - Very Good Ventures
Going back to Fullstack after many years, we had the challenge to maintain both the Flutter codebase and the BFF and Backend in Scala.
The problem
Our client, a major Leisure company, needed to release a series of 3 new features in a timeframe of 10 months. It involved not only frontend, but also backend, with unclear specifications and organizational changes out of our control.
The solution
I was the first engineer to explore the BFF codebase in Scala and create new endpoints based on what we understood as specifications. I trained and instructed the other 2 Engineers when they jumped into the backend code and they started contributing from day 0 in the codebase.
We also inherited and maintained backend services that connected to the BFF, and we took care of everything: coding, unit testing, E2E testing and deployment.
Even with tight timelines and absence of product leadership due to organizational changes, we took full ownership of the delivery and we tracked each deployment until its full success to the hand of the clients.
